Meet The Board
Our Mission
We have a mission to continue Carrie’s legacy by alleviating the hardships that unhoused community members face through reoccurring givebacks of meals and essential items.
Natasha Quarles Carter (Co-President)
Natasha Quarles Carter is one of Carrie's great-granddaughters. She grew up in LaMott, Pennsylvania in Carrie's home. She was able to benefit from her great-grandmother's strength and compassionate example on a daily basis. Natasha was also educated in the Cheltenham School District. She has been an educator for 11 years and aspires to own a child care center. Natasha is the mother of 5 daughters, the youngest of whom are triplets. She serves as a Co-President of Carrie Cares, Inc. Natasha wishes to serve members of the community in need with the same grace and resilience that Carrie displayed.
Kareemah Abdur Rahim (Co-President)
Kareemah Abdur Rahim is also one of Carrie's great-granddaughters. She grew up in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From a young age, she understood that her name means kind and generous. She has always done her best to live up to the meaning of her name by showing acts of kindness and generosity to those around her. With a degree in Restaurant Management, cooking has always been a passion of hers, but starting a non-profit organization with her "cousin-sister", Natasha has helped her find a new purpose in life. Kareemah has been an entrepreneur since 2020, which has been another blessing for her. Kareemah serves as one of the Co-Presidents of Carrie Cares, Inc.
Arlita Abdur Rahim (Secretary)
Arlita Abdur Rahim is one of Carrie Quarles' granddaughters. She grew up in LaMott, Pennsylvania in the home right next door to her grandmother, so she only had to walk across the yard to experience her grandmother's love and care. After a 41-year career doing what she loved as a Special Education Teacher, she retired in January 2021 from the Cheltenham Township School District, where she attended school from kindergarten through 12th grade. In her retirement, she is enjoying traveling, spending time with her three adult children, volunteering in the school where she spent most of her career, and serving as Secretary for Carrie Cares Inc. She strives to continue her grandmother's legacy by serving the community.
